The Health Equity Program (HEP) is a partnership of Graduate Entry Medical School (GEMS) students at the University of Limerick seeking to foster engagement and awareness of health equity on an Irish local and global context in the University community. We strive to provide an understanding of health equity through educational opportunities and outreach into the wider community. It's our goal to lead in partnership, an empathetic and conscientious engagement with vulnerable groups and the marginalized in our wider communities. The Health Equity Program (HEP) is one of the collaborating agencies of the Partnership for Health Equity (PHE) and shares its aim to improve access to primary healthcare for marginalized groups, including homeless persons, drug users, travelers, migrants and others. To achieve this, HEP is providing exposure to the issues relevant to the local community through observerships with partner organizations in Limerick and seminars lead by community figures.
